Arona jest o aż 11 centymetrów wyższa od Ibizy, a prześwit wynosi spore jak na segment B-SUV 190 mm. Jednak nie ma się co oszukiwać – Arona niechętnie rozstanie się z miastem. Brak napędu na cztery koła będzie ją odstraszał od czegokolwiek bardziej terenowego od szutrowej drogi. Rzeźbiona tysiącem cięć Mimo miastowego charakteru, Seat Arona udaje groźniejsze auto, jakim jest w rzeczywistości. Plastikowe osłony nadkoli dodają terenowego charakteru i dobrze współgrają z obudowami zderzaków. Można z czytym sumieniem powiedzieć, że Arona jest jednym z ciekawiej narysowanych małych crossoverów, jakie obecnie grasują na rynku. Ostre linie i zdecydowane przetłoczenia sprawiają, że wygląda, jak by ktoś wyrzeźbił Aronę w glinie tylko za pomocą długiego ostrza i zdecydowanych cięć. Młodzieżowego i modnego charakteru dodaje dwukolorowe nadwozie. Choć do czarnych dachów i kontrastowych wstawek już przywykliśmy, połączenie szarego auta z metalicznie pomarańczowym dachem i detalami, to odważny ruch, który jednak zaowocował nietuzinkowym samochodem, za którym zaskakująco dużo osób ogląda się na ulicy. Czytaj: TEST Seat Ibiza TSI 115 KM: nowy standard Powierzchnia dachu została przełamana wyrazistymi przetłoczeniami, które mają za zadanie zwiększyć sztywność nadwozia, a przy okazji nadają nietypowy wygląd. Do akcentów w zdecydowanych kolorach już Seat zdążył nas przyzwyczaić, jednak dachy z reguły pozostawały w kolorze nadwozia, ewentualnie czerni. Ubranie go w pomarańczowe barwy to odważny zabieg, który jednak przyniósł oczekiwany efekt. Szczerze? Jeżdżąc autami pokroju Alfy Romeo czy Porsche nie doświadczyłam tylu ciekawskich spojrzeń innych kierowców. Co ciekawe, ale i trochę oczywiste – głównie kierowców Seatów. Czy te oczy mogą kłamać? Coś co najbardziej zachwyca w wyglądzie zewnętrznym, to oświetlenie. Przednie reflektory mają bardzo ostry kształt. Nie znajdziemy w nich żadnych zaokrąglonych linii. Są narysowane wręcz od linijki, a LED-owy trójkąt świateł dziennych zauważymy już z daleka. Przedni zderzak także jest pełen geometrycznych kształtów. Wszystko jest spójne i zaprojektowane w tej samej konwencji – jak najwięcej kątów ostrych. Podobnie sytuacja wygląda z tyłu, gdzie we wszystkich wersjach wyposażenia oprócz podstawowej znajdziemy w pełni LED-owe lampy. Kliknij: TEST Seat Leon TDI 150 KM Aero: efektowny Z profilu Arona prezentuje się bardzo ciekawie nie tylko dzięki kolorom, ale przede wszystkim za sprawą linii bocznej. Choć zarys zewnętrzny auta jest dość prosty, linia okien w 2/3 tylnych drzwi zaczyna łagodnie piąć się do góry. Podobny zabieg widzieliśmy już w Volvo XC40. Tu jednak płynnie przechodzi w srebrny emblemat ze znakiem "X" – symbolem wersji wyposażenia Xcellence. Ten detal oddziela szarość nadwozia od pomarańczowego dachu, a linia jest przedłużona za sprawą subtelnego spoilera, który raczej pełni funkcję czysto dekoracyjną, aniżeli aerodynamiczną. Nie taka mała We wnętrzu Seata Arony jest zadziwiająco dużo przestrzeni. Patrząc na nią z zewnątrz, raczej spodziewamy się miejskiego autka na lekkich "szczudłach", a wygląd zewnętrzny nie obiecuje zbyt wiele. Zajmując miejsce za kierownicą będziemy bardzo pozytywnie zaskoczeni. Nad głową znajdziemy dobrych 15 cm przestrzeni (przy wzroście metra siedemdziesięciu). Na boki także będziemy mieć sporo miejsca, a kierowca i pasażer nie będą się szturchać łokciami. Tylna kanapa (choć nie należy do najlepiej wyprofilowanych), bez dyskomfortu zaprosi trzy dorosłe osoby. Przestrzenią imponuje także bagażnik, który standardowo pomieści 400 litrów bagaży (45 l więcej od Ibizy), podczas gdy wielu konkurentów oferuje o 30-40 l mniejsze przestrzenie bagażowe. Producent nie podaje jednak objętości bagażnika po złożeniu tylnej kanapy. Sprawdź: TEST Seat Ateca TSI DSG Xcellence Wnętrze mimo przestronności jest dość plastikowe. O ile nie razi to w przypadku deski rozdzielczej (przez środek której poprowadzono duży jasnoszary panel), tak wykończenie boczków drzwi zostawia nieco do życzenia. Analogowe zegary są dokładnie takie same jakie w Seatach widujemy od lat. Nie wiadomo dlaczego Volkswagen skutecznie odmawia Seatowi wirtualnego kokpitu, który dotarł już nawet do najnowszego Polo. Jednak mimo klasycznego wyglądu, takie proste rozwiązanie sprawdza się całkiem dobrze. Jest prosto i czytelnie, bez przerostu formy nad treścią, a nieduży wyświetlacz komputera pokładowego przekazuje wszystkie niezbędne informacje. Nieco nowości pojawiło się jednak na konsoli środkowej, na której umieszczono 8-calowy ekran dotykowy. Wszystkie przyciski wokół niego również zamieniono na warianty dotykowe, a całość przykryto niesamowicie brudzącym się szkłem. Niestety na idealnie gładkiej tafli zawsze będą zostawać odciski palców, nawet jeśli dopiero co umyliśmy ręce. Mimo, że przyciski szybkiego poruszania się po menu są dotykowe, Seat postanowił zostawić w spokoju pokrętło od głośności. I chwała im za to! Producenci, którzy z uporem maniaka robią dotykowe sterowanie głośnością, powinni popukać się w czoło. Warto wiedzieć: Stąd pochodzą nazwy samochodów Seat - wiedziałeś o tym? Skoro jesteśmy przy głośności, warto wspomnieć o nagłośnieniu jakie znalazło się w Seacie Arona. Poza standardowym radiem "no name" możemy wybrać opcjonalne nagłośnienie firmy Beats składające się z 6 głośników i schowanego pod podłogą bagażnika subwoofera. Taki zestaw wymaga skromnej dopłaty 2168 zł, ale warto bo gra zaskakująco dobrze. Mimo nienajlepszego wyciszenia kabiny, dźwięk w aucie jest czysty i przyjemny dla ucha. 3 x puszka Coca Coli Pod maską znalazł się popularny w gamie grupy Volkswagena litrowy silnik TSI. Trzy cylindry generują 115 KM i 200 Nm maksymalnego momentu obrotowego. Takie parametry zadziwiająco dobrze radzą sobie z rozpędzaniem ważącego zaledwie 1165 kg crossovera, ale głównie w mieście. Jest jednak mały minus. Chodzi o wyciszenie kabiny pasażerskiej, a tym samym jazgot silnika na wysokich obrotach. Mimo elastycznej 6-biegowej manualnej skrzyni biegów, aby dynamicznie przyspieszyć konieczne jest mocne zdeptanie pedału przyspieszania. Maksymalną moc mamy do dyspozycji dopiero przy 5000 obr/min. Jednak już od 80-90 km/h w kabinie robi się nieznośnie głośno przez szum powietrza opływający kabinę. Jeśli dołożymy do tego lament ciągniętej po obrotach trzycylindrówki, lepiej od razu obrać kurs na aptekę po zatyczki do uszu. Pozytywnie zwyczajna W kwestii prowadzenia Arona nie zaskakuje. Jest dokładnie taka, jak oczekiwałam. Dość miękka, spokojna, nie podjudzająca do zbyt szybkiej jazdy. Takie zupełnie normalne, życiowe auto do jazdy na co dzień. I choć może się wydawać, że w dobie zachwytów, "ochów" i "achów" taka poprawność może być wadą, moim zdaniem wcale nią nie jest. Test gorących hot-hatchy: Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport vs. Seat Leon Cupra 290 Mimo 17-calowych aluminiowych felg Arona świetnie radzi sobie z nierównościami podwarszawskich dróg. Nawet ekstremalnie wysoki krawężnik, z którego przyszło mi zjechać nie okazał się dla niej przeszkodą. Jeśli będziemy rozpatrywać Aronę w kategorii auta miejskiego (którym przecież jest), nie oczekując sportowych doznań, jej zawieszenie okaże się dosłownie idealnie zestrojone. Na tyle miękko, by ze śpiewem na ustach pokonywać miejskie dziury, ale na tyle twardo by nie generować dyskomfortu podczas skręcania czy jazdy z dużymi prędkościami. Zresztą prędkości i tak zbyt duże nie będą. Choć dane katalogowe obiecują maksymalną prędkość 182 km/h, a do pierwszej setki rozpędzimy się w 9,8 sekundy, już przy prędkości 110-120 km/h Arona zdecydowanie traci wigor i zaczyna dawać o sobie znać jej niska masa i większy prześwit. Można mieć wrażenie (szczególnie podczas jazdy nie najrówniejszą drogą), że auto zaraz oderwie się od ziemi. Jednak zostając w granicach miasta, nie sposób przyczepić się do czegokolwiek. Może jedynie układ kierowniczy mógłby stawiać bardziej zdecydowany opór, ponieważ możemy nim kręcić jednym palcem. Ale ponownie – w miejskich realiach to raczej zaleta. Zużycie paliwa też jest zupełnie zwyczajne, jak na "mieszczucha". Producent obiecuje 6 litrów, a w praktyce jest to około 6,5-6,7 l/100 km. Cena i podsumowanie W dzisiejszych czasach, gdy każda marka ma w swojej ofercie co najmniej jednego przedstawiciela segmentu miejskich crossoverów, więc konkurentów Aronie nie trzeba długo szukać. Najbliższy to rodzimy Volkswagen T-Roc, który może się pochwalić mocniejszymi jednostkami napędowymi (nawet dwulitrowym 190-konnym dieslem). Niemiecki brat jest jednak sporo droższy. Seat Arona otwiera cennik kwotą 65 100 zł za bazową wersję Reference z silnikiem TSI 95 KM. Za wersję z testowanym silnikiem o mocy 115 KM i z 6-biegowym manualem, zapłacimy co najmniej 70 000 zł, podczas gdy T-Roc z tą samą jednostką napędową kosztuje 78 390 zł. Nieco taniej wypadnie francuski konkurent – Renault Captur. Z silnikiem TCe 120 jego cennik rozpoczyna się od równych 66 tys. zł. Nieco słabszy 110-konny Opel Crossland X (z 5-biegową skrzynią manualną), będzie droższy otwierając cennik kwotą 71 800 zł. Seat Arona plasuje się więc dokładnie w środku stawki. Nasze porównanie: TEST Jeep Compass Limited vs. Seat Ateca FR: dwa przepisy na SUV-a Arona jest autem dość ciekawym i nieoczywistym. Nie oszukujmy się – litrowy silnik nie może być ekscytujący. Jednak mimo tej napędowej "zwyczajności" Arona ma nietypowy charakter i wizualny temperament. Udaje nieco ostrzejszą niż jest, jednak nie mydli oczu czerwonymi przeszyciami, ani nie sili się na bycie sportsmenką. Jest (nie)zwykłym autem na co dzień. Want a change from just another supermini? June Neary thinks you might just want something like this, SEAT's little Arona It Suit Me?Suddenly, it seems like everyone has to have an SUV. Even people who'd previously have bought a humble supermini. In fact, the smallest part of the SUV segment is the fastest growing, started by Nissan's Micra-based Juke and Renault's Clio-based Captur and continued by models like the Ibiza-based SEAT Arona model that I thought we'd look at this week. I'm target market here, so this kind of car ought to few years back, this model would have been an estate variant of SEAT's Ibiza. Now buyers want something more interesting than that - and the Arona does its best to provide it. Under the skin, just about everything that matters is Ibiza-based, but the demeanour here is quite different. Like its rivals, this car is trying to give the feel of being a sturdy car for everyday life for the urban jungle, hence the strong protection in the bumpers, the wheel arches and the dark coloured rubber side skirts, as well as the roof rack and the aluminium look-like protection at the bottom of the bumpers. The Arona's dimensions are a bit different from its supermini stablemate too - it's 79mm longer and 99mm taller. That frees up a bit of extra ground clearance for the mythical off-road adventures that likely buyers will never take. More pertinently, it frees up plenty more front and rear headroom, and, above all, a larger boot, with a 400-litre capacity. Not all 'lifestyle' SUVs of this sort sit you high and commandingly these days, but this one does - which also makes it much easier to get in and out of the car. The passenger seats are also 62mm higher than they would be in an Ibiza, while headroom is 37mm greater in the front and 33mm in the rear. The suspension height has been increased by 15mm and the windscreen is slightly more vertical for a roomier interior. I certainly had no trouble fitting in four passengers and a decently-sized supermarket the WheelAnd on the move? Well if you can tell the difference between this car and the Ibiza it's based upon, you're obviously a better qualified reviewer than I am. Yes, if you really throw the Arona into a bend at speed, there's a tad more bodyroll than you might normally expect, but to be quite frank, I hardly ever drive like that - and I don't think likely buyers do either. You'll want to know about engines, all of them equipped with direct injection and a turbo, as is the modern way. There are three different petrol units to choose from, the headline emphasis being on the usual Volkswagen Group three-cylinder 95PS TSI petrol unit, available in 95PS form with a five-speed manual gearbox or in 115PS guise with either a six-speed 'box or dual-clutch seven-speed DSG auto transmission. The third petrol choice is a four-cylinder 150PS TSI unit with active cylinder deactivation technology, which is exclusive to the 'FR' trim and is connected to a six-speed manual gearbox. Go for that sporty 'FR' trim and you get dual-mode suspension and the 'SEAT Drive Profile' that allows you to alter the steering, throttle response and suspension feel via four modes: 'Normal', 'Sport', 'Eco' and 'Individual'. As for diesel options, the efficient and reliable TDI unit is available with 95 and 115PS. The 95PS version can be paired with a five-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed DSG auto, and the 115PS variant with a six-speed gearbox. All Arona models are front-driven: there's not much appetite in this segment for 4WD. I can see For MoneyHaving done a bit of research here for you, I can report that Arona prices start at around £16,500 but expect most variants to sell in the same kind of £18,000 to £24,000 bracket common to the market's two leading small SUVs, Nissan's Juke and Renault's Captur. Trim levels are based around the usual 'SE', 'SE Technology', 'FR', 'FR Sport', 'XCELLENCE' and 'XCELLENCE Lux' SEAT spec options. Buyers like me like to personalise their cars and, sure enough, the Arona meets that need. Colour-wise, the car is divided into two: the lower body on the one hand, and the roof (plus the A- and C-pillars) on the other. The roof can be grey, black, orange or the same colour as the body. Globally, there are apparently no fewer than 68 possible colour combinations. Is it decently equipped? Well if you spend enough, yes. Key equipment features available as options or fitted to plusher models include Auto lights and wipers, a Keyless Entry and Start System, a rear camera, an 8-inch black panel centre-dash infotainment touchscreen, a Park Assistance System and a 'Connectivity Hub' which comes with a Wireless Phone Charger and a GSM signal amplifier. Safety spec will also be crucial to sales interest in this car, so the Arona gets all the latest camera-driven tech, including the brand's 'Front Assist' autonomous braking system, 'Blind Spot Detection' (which stops you from pulling out to overtake when there's a vehicle in your blindspot) and 'Rear Traffic Alert' (which warns you of approaching vehicles if you're reversing out from a space). Other features available include Adaptive Cruise Control, Hill Hold control, a Tiredness Recognition System and Multi-Collision Braking. And running costs? Well the TSI petrol turbo unit most buyers will choose should certainly prove to be very frugal. Expect the 95PS version to manage over 55mpg on the combined cycle and under 110g/km of CO2. Obviously, the TDI diesel will be much better. Expect about 70mpg and about 105g/km. All models get an automatic stop & start system to cut the engine when you don't need it, stuck in traffic or waiting at the I Live With One?Certainly. The market's now awash with models like this, but the Arona is one of your more appealing options in this class. Buyers don't seem to mind paying a price premium for a bit of extra style and in return, what's served up here is a small runabout you might really feel quite proud about.
